PeaceJam
PeaceJam is Friday, March 30th through Sunday April 1st. The Nobel Prize winner, Jody Williams will come to Panama City after the PeaceJam and will be here for the Empty Bowl. We are excited to have her here and show her all of the amazing projects that Chautauqua students and volunteers are working on. We look forward to getting her input to help expand these efforts in the future.
FSU PeaceJam Scholars Winter Retreat
February 18th and 19th the FSU PeaceJam scholars are here for their winter retreat. They will have training's in the morning in the Bay High Cafe and then launch and volunteer options. Dinner and party Saturday night will be held at Chautauqua. They will be sleeping in Chautauqua's portables as they refuel for the next day's activities. Donated food items are appreciated as we feed these young people for the weekend. Please call Mary Beth Nutt at 785-5056 for suggestions or more specific needs. Most of all though, we need volunteers to come to school Saturday afternoon. As we have the new portable moved in, we will be moving things from P#2 to the new portable, as well as beginning our Best Neighbors Grant Project "Bucket Gardens".
Gift to Chautauqua
Jeanette Chapman presented Cynthia McCauley a generous donation for Chautauqua Learn & Serve from the Chapman Family Foundation and Gladys Chapman Golf Tournament. Through their generosity the students of Chautauqua Learn & Serve will continue in their efforts to provide access and inclusion of all people in the community.

PeaceJam and Pearson Foundation announces that Chautauqua Learn & Serve Charter School is named the 2011 winner of the Global Call to Action Challenge. The students learned of their accomplishment via a phone call from PeaceJam co-founder Dawn Engle when she told the group, "we are so proud of every one of you and we are so proud to honor you in this fabulous way."
